Presentation
Artificial Intelligence is everywhere. Its contributions are considerable in many fields, sometimes going so far as to profoundly change the way we work.
The TOTh training in “Terminology and Artificial Intelligence” combines theory and practice to offer the needed knowledge to tackle the challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Terminology.
The TOTh training in Artificial Intelligence takes place over 2 sessions of 2 days for 2 consecutive years. Session 2024 is dedicated to the contribution of Symbolic Artificial Intelligence (knowledge representation, ontologies, knowledge graphs) to Terminology. The 2025 session will be dedicated to the contribution of Natural Language Processing and Connectionist Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning, Deep Learning) to Terminology.
Objectives of the training
Participants will acquire the theoretical and practical skills needed to build the conceptual system of terminology, focusing on the double dimension of terminology (linguistic and conceptual). Protégé will be used to build ontologies opening Terminology to the Digital World of Knowledge Graph and Semantic Web.
Target audience
TOTh training sessions are designed for an interdisciplinary audience of practitioners, researchers, and students: linguists, terminologists, translators, librarians, information scientists, digital humanists, cultural heritage experts, computer scientists, knowledge engineers…
Participants are asked to bring their laptop
